A Distant Hope Art Print

In Distant Hope, Anne Corlett draws from the Romantic school of thought popular during Mary Shelleys time and uses nature as a metaphor for the Creature’s internal state. Yellow flowers symbolize his desire for human connection, yet the dark sky and ominous shape of the branches indicate it will not be so simple. The woodland path cuts through the trees, but its destination is unclear, evoking a sense of mystery and causing us to wonder what the future holds for the Creature.

With a strong mottled texture and warm base tone, weve sourced a Hahnemhle German Etching paper that creates a print with strong colors and deep blacks to give that rich, high in contrast feel. Since the pronounced texture of the paper enables it to hold more ink, this paper gives each print a handmade crafted feel.

Prints are shipped flat in a protective parchment sleeve in between two sheets of stiff cardboard to keep prints flat in transit. If the artwork is damaged in any way during shipping, please contact us right away with photographs documenting any such damages. We will seek to address the damage to customer satisfaction on a case by case basis.
